The strimbu memorial fund

The Strimbu Memorial Fund was established in the image of Nick Strimbu, Jr. His contributions to the many charities and organizations he supported during his life provided the spark that encouraged his family and friends to continue this legacy after his death.

Since its creation in 1990, the Strimbu Memorial Fund has provided over $4 million in donations to local economic development, individuals, scholarships and charitable organizations.

As one of its main focuses, the Strimbu Memorial Fund annually grants twelve $2,000 scholarships, one $5,000 scholarship, and one $10,000 scholarship to local high school seniors planning to further their education through college or trade school. Leadership and self-reliance are the two most important criteria that are required in order to receive one of these scholarships. These requirements were established to mirror the example that Nick Strimbu demonstrated during his lifetime.

Proud partner with the lift program

Nick Strimbu is a proud ambassador of The LIFT Program, a Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio program that provides financial assistance to members to attend trade school. In partnership with Nick Strimbu, LIFT removes the financial barriers that hinder new entrants from joining the industry and attending school full time. The LIFT program helps pay for the following expenses:

Lost wages while in school
Child care assistance
Transportation expenses
Textbooks and training materials
Qualified household expenses (food, phone, clothing, toiletries, etc)

The LIFT program is the perfect solution for new entrants who are unable to cover expenses during their 6-week CDL training and need help with paying their bills, supporting their families, or meeting other financial requirements.
